Two injured in collision on A12 near Innsbruck

Two people were injured in a collision involving two cars on the A12 Inntal motorway near the Innsbruck-West interchange late on Saturday morning, ORF reported. The crash caused delays of up to 30 minutes.

A 19-year-old left the right-hand lane for an unknown reason and clipped the car of a 25-year-old woman as she joined the motorway at Innsbruck-West, police said. The impact sent both vehicles into the guardrails.

The woman suffered minor injuries and was treated by emergency responders. The 19-year-old sustained injuries of undetermined severity and was taken to hospital. Both cars were no longer roadworthy and had to be towed. Traffic was restricted during the recovery operation, adding to congestion in the heavy holiday traffic.
