A powerful storm swept across southeastern Styria on Friday evening, hitting the Feldbach area particularly hard, ORF reported. Uprooted trees blocked roads and damaged buildings, while fire brigades responded to around 90 incidents within three hours.

Emergency crews worked continuously to clear roads after the brief but severe storms. Trees were uprooted and fell onto streets, creating major challenges for responders.

Buildings were also damaged. One tree fell onto a house roof, while strong wind gusts partially stripped tiles from other roofs.

The storm also affected parts of Fürstenfeld, Leibnitz and the Weiz area. Several hundred firefighters were deployed to deal with the damage.
