Car carrying two teenagers crashes 15 metres down embankment

Monday 31st August 2026 on 08:00 in Austria

Eichenberg, road crash, Vorarlberg

Two teenagers were injured in a crash in Eichenberg late Sunday night, ORF reported. The 18-year-old driver’s car left the road and slid about 15 metres down an embankment into a wooded area.

The driver and his 16-year-old passenger were travelling on the L11 from Eichenberg towards Lochau at about 11 p.m., police said. The car apparently left the road, probably because of excessive speed, and entered a gravel parking area.

The driver was unable to steer and braked sharply. The vehicle then slid down the embankment, hit several trees and came to rest on its side.

Firefighters freed both teenagers from the car and recovered the vehicle. An emergency doctor treated them at the scene before they were taken to the Bregenz state hospital.
