15-year-old driver tests positive for alcohol after crash near Gurnitz

Three people were injured in a crash near Gurnitz on Friday evening, ORF reported. A 15-year-old from Klagenfurt is suspected of driving a car on the Miegerer Straße road at about 9.30 p.m. when it left the road for reasons that remain unclear, hit a tree and plunged about 30 metres down an embankment.
The driver and one passenger freed themselves from the vehicle. Mountain rescue teams, assisted by firefighters, recovered another passenger. The three occupants, aged 15, 16 and 18 and all from Klagenfurt, suffered injuries of unspecified severity and were taken to Klagenfurt Hospital for further medical checks.
A breathalyser test on the 15-year-old driver was positive. The vehicle was recovered by firefighters and later towed away. It was completely destroyed.
Police, around 60 firefighters from four fire brigades and eight mountain rescue workers took part in the operation.
