Car hits guardrail and plunges down slope

A car crashed into a guardrail and went down a slope on the road between Schwarzach and Goldegg in Pongau during the night into Sunday, ORF Salzburg reported. Emergency services were alerted by siren at 10 p.m.

According to the Schwarzach volunteer fire brigade, a severely injured person was found next to the vehicle and taken to a local hospital by the Red Cross.

Recovering the wreck in the steep terrain proved difficult. Firefighters from St. Johann and a tractor helped with the operation.
