Two people were injured when two cars collided on the Pass-Thurn Road B161 in St. Johann in Tirol in Kitzbühel district on Saturday evening, ORF reported. Both were taken to hospital.
The crash happened at about 11.30 p.m. when a 54-year-old Spanish taxi driver, travelling without passengers, turned from Speckbacherstraße towards the Pass-Thurn Road at the Egger junction. His taxi collided with a car approaching from the opposite direction.
The force of the impact sent the taxi into an adjacent field, where it damaged an electricity distribution box. The other car spun 180 degrees. Both vehicles were severely damaged and had to be removed by a towing service.
The taxi driver said he was uninjured. The 38-year-old driver of the other car and his 34-year-old passenger suffered injuries of undetermined severity. After receiving initial treatment from an emergency doctor, they were taken to St. Johann District Hospital for further examination.
