A 30-year-old woman was sentenced to 21 months in prison in Wiener Neustadt on Friday for robbery involving theft after dragging a store detective several metres with a car during a getaway, ORF reported. Seven months of the sentence must be served.

The verdict by the Wiener Neustadt Regional Court is final, the court told ORF. The woman had partially admitted the offence beforehand.

In early March, she and an accomplice stole sports clothing worth a three-digit sum from a shop in Brunn am Gebirge, in the Mödling district. A store detective saw them and followed them to a car with Slovak registration plates.

During a confrontation, the 33-year-old detective was kicked and punched in the face. When he leaned through the open driver’s door to stop the pair, the woman accelerated and dragged him several metres.

The woman was located and arrested at the end of May. Proceedings against her accomplice are being handled separately, according to the court.
