Police catch nine suspected bicycle thieves in Salzburg

Police detained six men and three women after they allegedly stole bicycles from racks in Salzburg’s Elisabeth-Vorstadt district, ORF reported.

A witness saw the group loading the bicycles into a delivery van on Saturday evening and alerted police. Officers stopped the suspects at the scene. They were aged between 23 and 72.

According to the investigation so far, the group had removed at least seven bicycles. The bicycles were allegedly intended for transport to Romania.

Police are now working to identify their rightful owners.
