Lower Austria will offer children activities at 19 venues across all four regions on Leopoldi, November 15, expanding the programme after its debut last year, ORF reports.

Children’s author Thomas Brezina will read from his book “What Your Body Would Say If It Could Speak” at the Museum Niederösterreich in St. Pölten, followed by a signing session. Other venues include the KinderKunstLabor, an art centre for children, and the VISTA Science Experience Center, as well as Museum Gugging in Klosterneuburg, MAMUZ Schloss Asparn an der Zaya and the Haus der Wildnis in Lunz am See.

Activities focused on research and experiments are planned at the Haus der Digitalisierung and science centres in Tulln and Lunz. Workshops and interactive stations at libraries, including those in Vitis, Gloggnitz and Scheibbs, will also feature. Admission is free.

At a news conference on Friday, Lower Austrian Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner said the day was intended both to look back at the region’s history and to focus on its future. The children’s event was also meant to show young people that they are an important part of the state, she said.

The first children’s state holiday programme was held last year, with events at the KinderKunstLabor and Museum Niederösterreich in St. Pölten. It included workshops, readings, open studios and creative activities.
