Man assaults 79-year-old resident and steals cash from Wörgl care home

An unknown man assaulted a 79-year-old wheelchair user and stole cash from her room at a care home in Wörgl on Saturday morning, ORF reported. The woman was not injured.

The man, who was about 50, entered the home at around 9 a.m. and walked through several floors before reaching the resident’s room. He searched several drawers.

When the woman grabbed his clothing to stop him, he violently pushed her back with both hands. He stole a low three-figure euro sum and fled.

Police are evaluating evidence, including footage from a camera at the entrance. The man is believed to have spoken broken German.
