An eight-year-old cyclist was injured in a collision with a car in Telfs on Thursday afternoon, ORF reported. The girl was trying to cross a road when she was hit.

The girl had been riding along an agricultural road parallel to the Tyrolean Road, B171, with a boy of the same age. A 66-year-old relative was accompanying them on foot.

At about 4pm, the girl attempted to cross the B171 on her children’s bicycle and was struck by a car driven by a 24-year-old woman.

The impact threw the girl onto a path beside the road, where she came to rest. Police said she suffered injuries of undetermined severity and was taken to a clinic in Innsbruck.
