Two drivers seriously injured in Oberwart crash

Two drivers were seriously injured after their cars collided head-on on the B63 near Oberwart on Tuesday, ORF reported.

Both drivers were trapped in their vehicles and had to be freed by emergency crews. One was taken by ambulance to Oberwart Hospital, while the other was flown by the C16 rescue helicopter to Feldbach Hospital.

The cause of the crash was not immediately clear. The operation lasted about two and a half hours and involved Oberwart city firefighters, the Red Cross, the ÖAMTC C16 rescue helicopter and police.
