Unknown robber forces Klagenfurt petrol station employee to open safe

ORF reported that an unknown man robbed a petrol station in Klagenfurt late on Monday evening, forcing a 47-year-old employee to open a safe before fleeing with several hundred euros.

Police from the Viktring station were called to an alarm at about 9.10 p.m. The employee said she had been preparing to close when a man wearing a black balaclava pushed her back into the petrol station. He was carrying a weapon of an unspecified type.

The man demanded money, but the cash register had already been closed and contained no cash. He then forced the employee into the rear area and made her open the safe before fleeing in an unknown direction.

An immediate search was unsuccessful. Police investigations are continuing.
