Light earthquake hits near Innsbruck again

A light earthquake was recorded near Innsbruck early Monday, ORF Tirol reported, citing the Austrian Earthquake Service at GeoSphere Austria.

The magnitude 1.9 quake occurred at 2.09am southeast of Innsbruck. It was felt weakly in isolated cases, with people reporting trembling and rumbling beneath the ground.

No building damage was reported, and GeoSphere Austria said damage was not expected at this strength.

Several other earthquakes have been recorded east of Innsbruck in recent days.

The Austrian Earthquake Service is asking anyone who felt the quake to report its effects through its web form, the QuakeWatch Austria app or by post to Austrian Earthquake Service, GeoSphere Austria, Hohe Warte 38, 1190 Vienna.
