Police in Innsbruck arrested two teenagers shortly after they allegedly attacked and robbed a 60-year-old man on Thursday morning, ORF reported. The 16-year-old and 18-year-old were taken to Innsbruck prison on orders from prosecutors.

The man was walking on Heiliggeiststrasse when the teenagers, an 18-year-old Serbian national and a 16-year-old Austrian, allegedly attacked him with punches, police said. They reportedly took his waist bag and fled towards Adamgasse.

Witness reports led police to the pair, who were arrested nearby shortly afterwards. The injured victim was treated at the scene.

The 16-year-old initially resisted arrest, threatened several officers and damaged a cell after being taken to a police detention centre. The Serbian teenager admitted to the alleged offence, police said.
