Dutch hiker falls 30 metres in Zillertal Alps

A 44-year-old Dutch man fell 30 metres while hiking in the Zillertal Alps on Thursday, ORF reported.
The man was walking along the Geistbeckweg hiking trail towards the Europahütte in the municipality of Gries am Brenner when he slipped on a wet stone.
He fell several times over steep boulder terrain and suffered a head injury. The two men accompanying him called emergency services.
A rescue helicopter, assisted by the Gries am Brenner mountain rescue team, recovered the man and flew him to Innsbruck Clinic.
