Truck overturns near St. Stefan im Rosental, injuring driver

A truck driver was injured after his vehicle left the road and overturned near St. Stefan im Rosental on Wednesday, ORF reported. He freed himself from the cab before rescuers arrived.

The accident happened on Höllgrundstraße in Aschau am Ottersbach. The truck, which had been travelling from St. Stefan im Rosental, came to rest on its side across the road.

Firefighters from St. Stefan im Rosental found the driver outside the cab, above the vehicle. The Red Cross was already treating him at the scene.

Rescuers used a basket stretcher and a rescue platform to recover the man. He was flown to hospital by helicopter with injuries of undetermined severity.
