Four federal proposals will go before Swiss voters on November 29, including a value-added tax increase for the AHV and looser rules for exporting and re-exporting war materiel, SRF reports.
Voters will also decide on two popular initiatives. The fireworks initiative calls for wide-ranging restrictions on the sale and use of noisy fireworks. Parliament rejected a counterproposal.
The other initiative, put forward by the Mitte party, seeks to end the marriage tax penalty on federal taxes. Its title is “Yes to fair federal taxes for married couples too – finally end discrimination against marriage.”
Voters in 11 cantons will also decide on various issues. These include covering part of the A2 motorway near Lucerne and a minimum wage in Valais. In Zug and Fribourg, voters will choose a member of the cantonal government in a second round.
