People’s will use a Helvetic Airline aircraft to maintain flights between Altenrhein Airport in Switzerland and Vienna while its only plane undergoes routine checks from October 27, ORF reported.

The airline’s Embraer 170 will be out of service for an extensive inspection of its landing gear and structure, People’s managing director Thomas Krutzler said. The duration is uncertain because the work could uncover a need for additional repairs.

Helvetic will provide an Embraer 190 for the replacement flights. The larger aircraft can carry more passengers, but it will not take off or land at full capacity because Altenrhein’s runway is not designed for that, aviation magazine Aviation Direct reported.

Krutzler said the costs of the replacement aircraft and crew had been budgeted and planned.
