Flock and SPAR chief win Tyroleans of the Year awards
Skeleton Olympic champion Janine Flock and Hans K. Reisch, chairman of SPAR Austria, were named Tyrolean Woman and Tyrolean Man of the Year 2026 in Vienna on Saturday, ORF Tirol reported. Tourism executive Jack Falkner received a lifetime achievement award.
The awards were presented for the 14th time at Club Tirol’s traditional Tyrol reception in the Great Hall of the University of Vienna, in partnership with the Tyrol state government. Organisers said Flock and Reisch stood out for their achievements, perseverance and close ties to Tyrol.
Falkner was recognised for his influence on tourism in Tyrol over several decades. His projects include the Sölden mountain lifts, the 007 ELEMENTS James Bond experience and the AREA 47 action and leisure park.
The awards were glass eagle sculptures created by Tyrolean glass artist Robert Freund. Tyrol Governor Anton Mattle and Club Tirol president Julian Hadschieff presented them. The ceremony was attended by guests from politics, business, culture and media, and featured performances by artists from the Tyrolean Festival Erl.
