An 84-year-old German motorcyclist was injured during an overtaking manoeuvre on the Seefelder Straße on Saturday morning, ORF reported. He was taken by emergency helicopter to the Innsbruck clinic with injuries of undetermined severity.

The man was travelling north towards Seefeld when he attempted to overtake two cars on a section of road with two lanes in his direction. He crossed the solid centre line, then tried to move back into his lane when a vehicle approached from the opposite direction. During the manoeuvre, he touched the car driven by a 34-year-old German man, lost control of his motorcycle and fell.

The Red Cross provided first aid before the emergency helicopter crew flew him to the clinic. The Seefelder Straße was closed to all traffic for nearly an hour while the accident was cleared, causing traffic jams in both directions.
