A 34-year-old man turned himself in to police after breaking into a detached house in Dornbirn, ORF reported. He told officers that he had committed the burglary earlier this month, saying his guilty conscience had driven him to the police.

According to a police report, the Czech citizen entered the house between September 5 and 6 by smashing a window with his hand. He injured his arm and stole a large amount of cash.

Two days after the burglary, he went to the police station in Bregenz and confessed. Police reported him while allowing him to remain free. They did not say whether he returned the money, citing investigative reasons.
