More than 30,000 people visited destinations across all nine Austrian federal states during the ORF Radio Tirol Sommerfrische, which ended on Friday with a visitor record, ORF reported. The holiday campaign also marked its 20th anniversary.
The campaign concluded with a family festival at Bergisel in Innsbruck district. During the summer holidays, participants who gave the designated code word received special offers and discounts.
The campaign visited Reutte, Landeck, Innsbruck-Land, Imst, Schwaz, Lienz, Kitzbühel and Kufstein. Kufstein recorded the highest attendance, with 5,230 visitors taking part during the week. Ellmau alone attracted 3,300 visitors, setting a new daily attendance record.
For 20 years, ORF Tirol has offered families and other interested visitors a varied holiday programme through the Sommerfrische. ORF Tirol director Esther Mitterstieler said the broadcaster was pleased with this year’s positive results.
“We show people their beautiful home region and entertain them. We want to be outdoors, listen and capture what moves people. This is a concept that is evidently working better and better,” Mitterstieler said.
