Thunderstorm triggers 15 fire brigade callouts in Vorarlberg

A strong thunderstorm caused about 15 fire brigade callouts in Vorarlberg on Tuesday evening, mainly because fallen trees and branches blocked roads and cycle paths, ORF reported. No major damage or injuries were reported.

A powerful storm cell moved across parts of Vorarlberg shortly before 9.30pm. According to the rescue and fire brigade control centre, the affected areas were mainly between Frastanz and Dornbirn.

Wind and rain blocked several routes with uprooted trees and branches. The control centre reported several minor callouts shortly before 10pm.

The Höchst fire brigade responded with four vehicles and 38 members. Firefighters also dealt with water entering a building, a tree that had fallen onto a pavilion and construction material blown around by the wind.

The rescue and fire brigade control centre said the storm did not cause significant damage.
