Car hits cyclist on B56 in Gaas

A 41-year-old Hungarian cyclist was slightly injured when a car collided with his bicycle on the B56 in Gaas, Burgenland, on Tuesday evening, ORF reported.

The cyclist was travelling towards Moschendorf at about 8.30pm when a 24-year-old driver, also heading towards Moschendorf, failed to see him in the darkness, according to the Burgenland State Police Directorate.

The car’s right side mirror struck the bicycle’s handlebar, causing the cyclist to fall. Emergency services took him to Güssing Clinic.

Alcohol tests on both men were negative.
