A butcher shop in Köniz, in the canton of Bern, temporarily closed after a cyberattack manipulated its refrigeration controls, SRF reported.
Lüthis Fleischwaren said in a flyer that the tampering with the electronic controls of its refrigerators and freezers caused significant temperature deviations. The company disconnected the system from the network to rule out possible risks and temporarily shut the branch.
In recent weeks, hacking attacks targeting refrigerators and freezers have been reported in several European countries, particularly France. On Wednesday, there was also a report of tampering with cooling systems used for stored blood supplies.
