Innsbruck forecasts seven-million-euro budget surplus for 2027
Innsbruck plans a budget surplus of seven million euros in 2027, according to ORF. The city’s proposed budget totals 637 million euros.
The plan, presented by Mayor Johannes Anzengruber and finance director Martin Rupprechter, reduces the number of municipal posts from 1,933 last year to 1,879 by 2027. Vacant posts will not be filled.
Innsbruck expects to pay 78 million euros more to the state of Tyrol than it receives from it, which the city says puts its finances under significant pressure.
The budget will be discussed over the coming weeks, with a final decision expected in the city council on December 10 and 11.
