Ryanair will launch twice-weekly direct flights from Klagenfurt to Porto and Brindisi in April 2027, ORF Kärnten reported, as the airline expands its summer schedule from the airport.

The new routes will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays to Porto, and Mondays and Thursdays to Brindisi. Porto will be the first destination in Portugal with a scheduled direct flight from Carinthia. Brindisi, a port city on the Adriatic, provides access to Apulia’s Salento area.

Ryanair will also increase flights to Palma de Mallorca to one a day, adding around 22,000 seats. London Stansted will have three weekly flights, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, from April to October.

The airline plans 14 weekly departures from Klagenfurt in its summer 2027 schedule, offering around 160,000 seats to and from the airport. That is about 90 percent more than in summer 2026. Flights are on sale now.

Klagenfurt Airport managing director Maximilian Wildt said the expansion was a positive signal, adding that growth could be greater if Austria’s flight tax were abolished. Carinthia’s deputy governor, Martin Gruber, said international connections were important for the region’s residential, business and tourism sectors. Airport supervisory board chairman Martin Payer said the new routes strengthened the airport’s role in supporting the economy and tourism, while Kärnten Werbung managing director Klaus Ehrenbrandtner described connections to key markets as central to reaching international visitors.
