A bullet from an accidentally discharged handgun entered a neighbouring home in the Kufstein district on Saturday, ORF reported. It broke through a window and became lodged in an interior door. No one was injured.

A 45-year-old Austrian man was cleaning the handgun in a garden shed at about 1.30pm when it fired. The bullet passed through the shed’s wooden wall before entering the neighbouring house.

Police imposed a temporary weapons ban on the man and seized the handgun, which he was not legally permitted to possess. He will be reported to the Innsbruck public prosecutor’s office and the Kufstein district authority.
