Vorarlberg’s Patrick Schnetzer and Markus Bröll won the cycle-ball title at the Indoor Cycling World Championships on Sunday, beating Germany 8-1 in the final in Ludwigsburg. The pair’s seventh world title was reported by ORF.

The duo from Höchst are competing together again this year. Bröll had retired in 2020, after which Schnetzer partnered with Stefan Feurstein. When Feurstein was injured ahead of this year’s European Championships in July, Bröll stepped in and the pair won the title, their eighth European gold together.

The world title was the 16th World Championship medal of Schnetzer’s career. He has reached the podium at every World Championship since 2010 and became the youngest cycle-ball world champion in history in 2011.

Vorarlberg also won bronze in the artistic cycling pairs event on Saturday. The newly formed duo of Franziska Belmega and Marcel Schnetzer finished behind two German pairs. It was Marcel Schnetzer’s fourth World Championship bronze and Belmega’s first World Championship medal.
