Innsbruck expands parking rules and raises permit prices
Innsbruck’s expanded parking rules took effect on Monday, including longer paid-parking hours and higher prices for resident permits, ORF reported.
In 90-minute and 180-minute short-stay zones, drivers now need a parking ticket on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. At selected special parking areas, including the Alpine Zoo and Ambras Castle, charges apply daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. The rates in these zones have not changed.
New green parking zones have been introduced in Arzl, Olympisches Dorf and Kranebitten. Unlike in blue zones, drivers with a valid ticket can park there all day.
The city says the extensions are intended to improve parking for residents. Monthly resident parking permits now cost 9.96 euros, up from 6.18 euros. The city said the increase was necessary because of inflation.
