Hackers access software firm’s system and customer data

Hackers broke into a software company’s computer system in the Schwaz district of Tyrol and accessed customer data, ORF reported.

The attackers entered a web application used to handle booking arrangements for accommodation businesses in several countries. They then appear to have contacted customers through a messaging service, asking them to confirm bookings by clicking a link. The link requested credit card details in the background when customers confirmed.

Police said the hackers accessed the system between October 17 and October 28.
