Three fire brigades rescue injured driver after car leaves road

Three fire brigades rescued an injured driver who became trapped after her car slid down an embankment in Neustift im Mühlkreis on Thursday evening, ORF reported.

The car left a rural road near Kramesau at about 9:30 p.m., first veering onto the roadside verge before sliding down a steep slope. Several trees stopped it from falling further.

The woman could not get out of the vehicle herself. Firefighters from Neustift, Rannariedl and Hofkirchen im Mühlkreis freed her and handed her over to emergency medical services.

A crane was used to recover the car because of its position on the slope. Cleanup work continued into the night, and the operation was completed at about 1 a.m. The reason the car left the road is not known.
