Police filed 18 reports after targeted traffic checks in Graz focused on alcohol and drug use, ORF reported. Five drivers were suspected of being impaired by drugs during the checks on October 26.

Officers from Graz Traffic Inspectorate 2 carried out the checks in the Gries and Lend districts. All five drivers were examined by a police doctor, who found them unfit to drive because of drug use. Four had their driving licences provisionally taken away; the fifth did not have a valid licence.

Police seized small quantities of cannabis and suspected cocaine. The driver of an unregistered electric moped refused both an alcohol test and an examination by a police doctor and will also be reported.

The 18 reports included 16 traffic violations and two offences under the Narcotic Substances Act.
