Driver dies days after head-on crash with truck

A 68-year-old man from Pinzgau has died in hospital several days after his car collided head-on with a truck, ORF reported.

The crash happened shortly before noon on Wednesday at the entrance to a tunnel on the Felbertauern road in Mittersill, as the man was driving towards Lienz.

A 40-year-old passenger in the car was also injured. The truck driver was unhurt, and a breath test found no alcohol in his system. Police could not carry out a breath test on the car driver. The cause of the collision is unclear.
