A 56-year-old man was found asleep beside his overturned motor scooter after riding off the Grazer Bundesstraße, a federal road in Salzburg, overnight into Friday, ORF reported. A passer-by alerted police at 1.30am.
When officers arrived, the man was walking away but they stopped him. A breath test showed 1.02 per mille alcohol. He refused a medical examination at hospital and had to hand over his driving licence.
In a separate incident on Thursday evening, a 31-year-old man riding an electric scooter brushed a car at a red light at an intersection on Guggenmoosstraße, a street in Salzburg. He exchanged details with the 37-year-old driver over the damage. About an hour later, he reported the accident to police because his leg hurt. A breath test showed 2.06 per mille alcohol, and he will be reported, Salzburg’s state police directorate said.
