Truck kills pedestrian on B20 in Freilassing

A pedestrian died after being hit by a truck on the B20 road in Freilassing, Bavaria, on Thursday afternoon, ORF reported. Bystanders and emergency crews tried to resuscitate the pedestrian, but he died at the scene.

The truck struck him at about 1.20pm between Freilassing-Mitte and Freilassing-Nord, causing critical injuries. The cause of the crash is not yet known.

Emergency services sent an ambulance, an emergency doctor and the Freilassing volunteer fire brigade. A rescue vehicle from Saaldorf-Surheim was also called to assist the truck driver, who was in severe shock. Police and firefighters helped with resuscitation efforts, secured the scene, set up a diversion and gathered evidence.

Investigators are still working to establish exactly how the crash happened.
