Collision with semi-trailer kills 83-year-old driver in Styria

An 83-year-old driver was killed in a collision with a semi-trailer truck in Obdach, in the Murtal district, on Wednesday, ORF reported.

The man was driving on the Obdacher Straße (B78) when his car crossed into the oncoming lane for an unknown reason. It then collided head-on with the truck, driven by a 51-year-old Slovak man. The driver was trapped in his car.

Police said the 83-year-old died at the scene from his injuries. The road was closed for two hours after the crash. Twenty-six firefighters and five vehicles were deployed.
