Unknown shooters fire from moving car near Eggerstanden

Unknown people fired shots from a moving car near Eggerstanden in Appenzell Innerrhoden on Monday evening, SRF reported. No one was injured, and police said they were not currently treating the incident as an act of violence.
Several people reported hearing a loud bang at about 8.30pm on Eichbergstrasse, near Sonnweid. The Appenzell Innerrhoden cantonal police said a burst of shots was fired shortly afterwards from a car travelling towards Eichberg.
The weapon has not been found. Roland Koster of the cantonal police said the sound reports suggested it may have been an automatic firearm. Specialists from St Gallen cantonal police are examining the exact type of firecracker and the shots. Police have not said whether they recovered any shell casings.
