Owner injured as shed fire spreads to garage in Klagenfurt

A man was slightly injured while trying to extinguish a fire that spread from a tool shed to a garage in Klagenfurt on Saturday evening, ORF reported. The professional fire brigade stopped the flames from reaching a nearby house. Damage to the garage was substantial.

Firefighters were called at about 10.15 p.m., by which time the flames had reached the garage roof. The intense heat threatened the nearby house, so crews set up a protective line and began firefighting. Several teams wearing breathing apparatus took part.

Firefighters removed parts of the roof covering to extinguish flames that had entered the roof structure. The tool shed was completely destroyed, and the garage was badly damaged. The volunteer fire brigades of Wölfnitz and Kalvarienberg also attended.
