Bad Goisern, dog rescue, mountain rescue

Mountain rescuers in Bad Goisern rescued a Chihuahua after it fell about 50 metres near the Ewige Wand rock face in the Gmunden district, ORF reported. The dog appeared to have escaped largely uninjured, although its condition was not initially known.

Two hikers from Wels were walking along a high-altitude trail with the dog on Thursday when it fell to the foot of the rock face. A search team found the Chihuahua quickly.

The rescue team had been called out shortly after returning from its annual exercise. The dog was handed back alive to its relieved owners.
