Construction company Kögl GmbH has opened the first training centre for work at height and occupational safety in Müllendorf, in the Eisenstadt-Umgebung district, ORF reported. The company also built a new headquarters at the Müllendorf Business Park.
The company invested 2.3 million euros in the headquarters and an indoor training hall. The hall includes old electricity pylons where workers can practise emergency descents, Kögl managing director Horst Kögl said. The centre trains people who work both at height and below ground, including roofers, carpenters, event technicians and sewer workers.
Kögl was founded as a technical office in 1991 and began offering occupational safety services five years later. It now trains between 700 and 800 people each year.
The Austrian Workers’ Compensation Board recorded 344 workplace accidents in Burgenland’s construction sector in 2025, one of them fatal. The total was 8 per cent lower than in 2024.
