motorcycle અકસ્માત, road accidents, Wels

A 90-year-old motorcyclist and his 89-year-old passenger were seriously injured in a crash in Wels on Friday, ORF reported. The motorcycle left the road and hit a speed camera.

The man was travelling out of town on Eferdinger Straße at about 6 p.m. when he veered off the road to the right. The impact tore the speed camera from its mounting, and the motorcyclist fell.

He was flown by emergency helicopter to Kepler University Hospital in Linz. His passenger was taken by ambulance to Wels Hospital.

The cause of the crash was not immediately clear and is under investigation. The motorcyclist had a valid driving licence. Authorities are now assessing whether he remains fit to drive; his licence is not being revoked solely because of his age.
