Pair use pretext to enter Ferlach home and steal hearing aid

A man and a woman entered a home in Ferlach on Friday morning on a pretext and stole costume jewellery and a hearing aid, ORF reported. They left only after the homeowners’ 64-year-old daughter arrived and drove them out.

The man also used the toilet while inside the house. The pair are described as being aged 45 to 50 and having a southern European appearance.

Police said this was at least the second similar case known in the Klagenfurt-Land district. Suspects in such cases often ask for a glass of water or to use the toilet to gain entry to victims’ homes. The investigation is ongoing.
