Intoxicated driver injures 78-year-old woman in Villach

A 78-year-old woman was trapped and injured by a reversing car in the car park of a residential complex in Villach. The driver was under the influence of alcohol, ORF reported.

The woman was unloading shopping from her car on Thursday afternoon and had opened its rear door. A 65-year-old Villach man was reversing into a parking space beside her when his car struck the open door, trapping her.

After receiving initial medical care, the woman was taken by ambulance to Villach Hospital. A breath test found the driver had been drinking, police said. His driving licence was taken away.
