Crash leaves car lodged in central barrier near Hörsching

A driver was injured when his car became wedged in the central barrier after a crash near the Neubau tunnel in Hörsching shortly after midnight on Sunday, ORF reported.

Police said the 23-year-old, from Wels and originally from Bosnia, appears to have lost control of his car while travelling towards Wels on the B1. The vehicle hit several metal posts and a streetlight before colliding with the barrier.

Fire crews from Hörsching and Rutzing secured the scene. They had to dismantle part of the barrier to free the wrecked car, which was then taken away by a recovery company.

Paramedics took the injured driver to Wels-Grieskirchen Hospital after providing initial medical care.
