Four Romanian nationals have been arrested over a robbery in Nenzing, with two of them also suspected of stealing necklaces from two elderly women in Bregenz. ORF reported that the arrests followed an investigation by Vorarlberg’s State Criminal Investigation Office and Nenzing police.
The Nenzing robbery took place during the night of 5 September 2026. Investigators say a 28-year-old man had arranged to meet a sex worker he did not know through an online platform. The woman arrived at his home with another woman. While all three were inside, two masked men entered, threatened the man with knives and stole cash and other valuables. All four suspects then fled.
Two men and two women were identified and arrested. On the order of the Feldkirch public prosecutor’s office, they were taken to Feldkirch prison. Police have not disclosed details of the stolen property or the value of the loss.
Investigators also recovered several pieces of jewellery, some of them valuable. They believe the items may be linked to crimes that have not been reported or have not yet been connected to specific cases.
The two women are also suspected of robbing two elderly women in Bregenz-Vorkloster on 12 August. Investigators say they approached the women while dancing, then tore necklaces from their necks.
Police believe the four arrested people may be linked to further offences. Anyone who recognises the recovered jewellery or has information about its origin is asked to contact Vorarlberg’s State Criminal Investigation Office on +43 (0) 59 133 80 3333.
