Police arrest man after woman found dead in Graubünden car

A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of killing a woman whose body was found in a car in Schmitten, Graubünden, SRF reported.

Police found the woman on Sunday on a meadow, sitting in the driver’s seat. She had been reported missing and was a senior who had lived in Falera, according to Graubünden cantonal police.

Investigators said evidence led them to the German man, who lives in Valbella. Police found personal belongings of the woman in his home during a search. He was arrested on Tuesday evening.

The public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation into intentional homicide and requested that the man be held in pre-trial detention. Authorities have not disclosed the relationship between the suspect and the woman or further details of the case.
