Burgenland pensioner dies after falling into Ebro while fishing

A pensioner from Deutsch Kaltenbrunn in Burgenland died after falling from a boat into Spain’s Ebro River while fishing, ORF Burgenland reported Tuesday.

The man was fishing with a group overnight when he fell into the river for reasons that remain unclear and was swept away by the current. He was found hours later despite an extensive rescue operation, but could not be saved.
