Construction on the Pottendorfer line railway route will suspend S60 train services between Wampersdorf and Wiener Neustadt until 12 December, ORF reported. The Austrian Federal Railways, ÖBB, will provide replacement buses.

The second phase of the works begins on Saturday, extending the project from the existing section between Wampersdorf in Baden district and Ebenfurth in Wiener Neustadt district to Wiener Neustadt Central Station. The works include modernisation and expansion measures.

ÖBB plans to provide one replacement bus for each scheduled service. The timetable was revised using experience from the spring service and feedback from the region.

On school days other than Saturdays, two additional afternoon bus services towards Wampersdorf will be added. A new morning service will also directly connect larger schools in Wiener Neustadt.

Passengers travelling between Wampersdorf and Wiener Neustadt should expect a journey of about 47 minutes. Connections with trains in Wampersdorf and train services between Vienna and Wampersdorf mean that the timetable will differ from the previous train schedule, ÖBB said.

All existing direct morning buses will continue to operate. One bus will also continue to start in Ebreichsdorf. To make the change easier for pupils, buses will stop at Dr.-Eckner-Gasse and HTL, and at Platz der Gesundheit in Wiener Neustadt, instead of the regular Civitas Nova stop.
